Brae Burn Junior Golf Programs

Brae Burn Golf Club is offering a Junior Golf Academy for the 2012 season. PGA Instructors and assistants will teach fundamentals, rules of golf, equipment use, course management and other key areas of importance.

Ages 8-12 Girls and Boys   10:00-11:15 AM

The first day of instruction will be held on Wednesday June 20th, 2012 and the Wednesdays following until the tournament held on August 8th. There will not be instruction on July 4th. Instruction will be held at Brae Burn Golf Club. We ask that participants have their own clubs consisting of at least a Fairway Wood, Pitching Wedge, 7-Iron and Putter. Brae Burn does have limited clubs available if needed.

Participants will be asked to arrive 10 minutes prior to instruction for registration/warm up. Soccer shoes and football cleats are not permitted. Please wear soft-spikes or flat bottom tennis shoes.

Each participant will receive a 2012 academy tee shirt and a possibility of a trophy for placing in the Junior Golf Tournament the last week. An awards ceremony/luncheon will immediately follow the tournament on August 3rd. Tournament date may change for reason of inclement weather.

2012 Junior League Information/Agenda

Brae Burn Golf Club is offering a Junior Golf League for the summer of 2012. This league will run for 7 weeks starting Wednesday, June 20th and ending August 8^th, 2012. There will not be league play on July 4th. 

The participants will compete against each other on a weekly basis, playing 9 holes.  Tee times will begin at 12 pm on Wednesdays.  Different formats will be used on weeks 1 and 2 to determine skill level.  The last week an end of season tournament will be held with handicaps applied.  Trophies and ribbons will be given to placed contestants.

Each participant will receive a GAM Handicap/Membership, opportunity to win trophy, and awards ceremony/luncheon.

Participants will learn processes of playing golf, etiquette and the rules of golf.  Equipment is not included.
